Doris Younane graduated from NIDA in 1986 and shortly after was offered a contract with the State Theatre South Australia with John Gaden and Gayle Edwards. She then went on to help create the very physical role of Titania in Midsummer Nights Dream in the Botanic Gardens, which toured nationally.  Not content with simply being an actor, she also trained with the circus and mastered the art of flying trapeze when she studied flying trapeze with Jean Palacy Flying School, then on to acrobatics — with the Russian training program through Circus Oz. Doris also received a Green Room Award for her role in the play A Beautiful Life by Michael Futcher and Helen Howard.

Doris then went on to Heartbreak Kid the movie, followed by the television series Heartbreak High. Some of her other most notable television roles have been as Elena in Seachange, the sitcom Us and Them for the Nine Network, Blackjack telemovies with Colin Friels for Network Ten, as the much loved Moira in Australia’s award winning drama McLeods Daughters and recently finished working on the mini series False Witness.
