Ali Haider as “Zeus”

Ali was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and came to Australia as a toddler. Growing up in south-western Sydney he has been surrounded by street and gang violence. Although he was drawn into this violent world, acting has shown him that there are other paths to follow.

“For me, this role was easy. I mean I only had to think of all the people that have called me “wog” and all the times I got really fired up. And that's what I did for David I gave him a very real performance,” he said.

The accessibility of guns, knives and drugs in Sydney is something Ali has first hand experience of.” Yes it’s easy to get weapons, you just have to make one phone call, it’s not hard at all. The thing is the streets are real dirty and people don’t fight one on one with fists. So the movie was very true when it showed how the young hot heads turn to weapons straight away,” he said.
